Adding and Editing a Master Server
To add a new Master Server, complete the following steps:
- Click
Distributed Server Configurationfrom the toolbar. The Distributed Server Configuration window appears.
- Click File and then New Master Server from the Reveille Distributed Server Configuration window. The Master Server Configuration window appears.
- In Local Server ID, enter the name for this computer as it will be displayed on the Master Server.
- In Primary Master Server
Address, enter the address of the primary Master Server, which the Remote Server
uses to synchronize with first.
(Optional) Select Use SSL to define an SSL client certificate for use during the connection process. Type the path to the certificate, or clickbrowse to locate and select the certificate.
- In Optional Secondary
Master Server Address, enter the alternate address of another Master
Server, which points to the same database as the Primary Master Server.
(Optional) Select Use SSL to define an SSL client certificate for use during the connection process. Type the path to the certificate, or clickbrowse to locate and select the certificate.
Note: The Remote Server attempts to synchronize with the Secondary Master Server if the Primary Master Server is not available.
- To make access to the Master Server more secure, select or define Credentials.
- In Update Interval, enter the number of minutes before an update of the Master Server takes place.
- Click Save. The new Master Server is displayed in the Master Server List in the top half of the Distributed Server Configuration window.
Note: The Master Server settings can be edited by right-clicking the Master Server and selecting Edit Master Server.
